Dear Friends,
I know what you are thinking… “Wow she really hasn’t done a lot in the last two years, or at least she hasn’t put out that many posts.”
I have thought a lot about how to write this post and honestly I decided it would be best just to start writing and see what happens.
Life doesn’t always go the way we plan it… but I heard this quote from Melissa Hesler, “If you know the nature of our heavenly father you with never question His motives”. God knows me better than I know myself and He has laid every stone on the path before me long before my feet stepped on them.
10-11 This is God’s Word on the subject: “As soon as Babylon’s seventy years are up and not a day before, I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. 12 “When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. 13-14 “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me.
Two years ago almost to this day I found myself on the road to Monterey, California with a heart full of inspiration at what the future held and no fear of the future. You see, being an east coast girl with a constant desire to be near my family I found it hard to go anywhere with out them, yet God chose me for a life on the road, constantly moving, feeling like I am never planted, never rooted? I am not a missionary but I have felt like Thomas the disciple at times, always coming and going, moving with the current of Holy Spirit and struggling to see the path in front of me just remembering to keep my head up and my feet down stream to the movement of the rushing river. Now, keep in mind that God says it is important to be planted, preferably by the river.
17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,18 may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height,19 and to know the love of Christ, which surpasses knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.
Ps 1:3 KJ21 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bring forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither, and whatever he does shall prosper.
I am a military wife, I have traveled over a fourth of the earth, lived in 2 different countries, 6 states, 11 different homes, made 14 moves, and traveled more airplane trips than I can count (not including the road trips) in the past 11 years. No joke, I counted it up and in the last two years I have logged over 1600 miles on the road. This is not a complaint but an observation. Seven years ago I could not said this, seven years ago I was afraid of everything and was floating head first down stream, struggling to stay afloat. So when I say I am constantly moving I have learned that this earth is not my home. But in contrast… He has raised us up together with Him [when we believed], and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, [because we are] in Christ Jesus, [and He did this] so that in the ages to come He might [clearly] show the immeasurable and unsurpassed riches of His grace in [His] kindness toward us in Christ Jesus [by providing for our redemption]. Eph 2:6-Eph 2:7 AMP
The past two years has been a journey God has prepared me for. He has helped me change positions in the current of life to that of trust in him and even though I have been challenged to react in fear to my earthly father having a massive heart attack and my mother being given only months to live not to mention two more moves I am resting in heavenly places verses the shifting of the earth beneath me.
With all my heart I wouldn’t change a thing, I am so grateful for the journey. Life on earth is just a place to begin, and when you stop being frightened of what you don’t understand or can’t anticipate, then you’ll grow. So, with all of that said, I think you can see why I haven’t had a lot of time to blog. Especially since I was homeschooling my son the whole way. What I great kid, Jude never complains about it, he just adjusts to the new schedule, a new location, a new everything. Truly he is a wonder to me.
So not to prolong this any further, I am posting my favorite images from the last two years of my life. These images are of friends, family, clients that have become friends, the struggles of surgery for my dad and the miracle of his journey, plus the images of our great nation that God has so richly blessed us with. I have so much more to share but I hope you enjoy and please leave me a comment or two. If you want to know more of this journey I am more than happy to share. You can contact me via, email. 🙂
