My New Year’s Commitments

I am working on many projects this year.

1. My PPA (Professional Photographer’s of America) Certification (Which will help me do more freelance work for publications when I return to the US in September.) If you want to know more about this let me know, they are a wonderful non-profit organization working with almost every nation to educate photographers and more.

2. Finding Balance between my relationship with God, my family, and my art work. I have a tendency to be so one track minded that I can’t focus on anything except the task at hand. Not very effective if you are a wife, a mom, a professional, a youth leader, etc. To work on this I am ready books to help me with organization and workflow. My first one is “48 Days to the Work You Love” by Dan Miller. If you are still searching for what you want to do with your life this book is a great resource. I know what I want to do with my life, but making what I want to do and what I need to do line up in harmony is the hard part for me, and hopefully over the next two months this book will help me identify what that looks like for me.

3.  To Lose 10 pounds. I am doing this through the Power 90 Diet. It works really great. So far I have lost 15 pounds and 5 pants sizes. I really think this will improve my quality of life as well as adding to my strength holding my camera gear.

I am going to keep busy working on many projects this year for my certification and I will keep you all posted. One of my first projects that I will be continuously working on throughout the year is a self-portait that I feel represents me well to others. I have a few tests that I have created already but so far this is my first one, the simplest version. Black and White, Close-up with no distractions, and laid-back expression.

I am hoping this post will encourage you to peruse the New Year with enthusiasm. It will go by fast and you have 348 days left to enjoy, learn, challenge yourself, show some kindness, etc. So don’t just make your new year resolutions, but commit to them, make a plan to complete them. You can do it! You can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengths you. Phil 4:13
